Meet the Doula!
Chrystallynn is a Doula based in Houston, Tx and is affectionately known as “Chrys” to those in her community. She has served in maternal healthcare since 2018 when she earned her certification as a Full Spectrum Doula. Currently she is on the path toward becoming a Licensed Midwife (LM/CPM) all while honoring the call to ministry. Aside from birth work, Chrystallynn had dedicated her life to sharing the Gospel and uplifting those she serves through the gifts God has entrusted her with. My Birth Philosophy
Shema Birth Services approaches pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum care from a holistic approach. By this we mean, we believe that it is only through incorporating all parts—mind, body and spirit; into the birth space, that a woman can be whole in her experience. It is God’s intention for us to be whole, therefore, we keep this philosophy at the core of all we offer as we serve those we are called to.
Childbirth is a natural occurrence that takes place and does not need to be managed by anyone. The body is beautifully orchestrated by God and once we train our minds to surrender, birth can happen on its own.
Educating families prior to conception and in the prenatal period is how we begin to prepare for a gentle birth experience absent of unnecessary medical interventions.
Providing continuity of care in postpartum assists families to freely and comfortably usher themselves into this new phase of their lives.
Desired birth outcomes are achievable with proper healthcare and equity in birthing spaces.
Doulas are essential and they serve as an anchor and guiding presence to the birthing family.
As a Doula, my purpose is to provide each of my clients with the necessary information that can best combine with your desires, in order to curate the most holistic, safe, and fulfilling birth experience.
Client Reviews
“I thoroughly enjoyed my experience with Chrys’ placenta encapsulation service. She made sure I was well informed before the process started. Although she did not perform the process at my home, my experience with her prior to birth made me comfortable with her taking my placenta into her care at her residence. She was very understanding as hospitals can be a bit annoying with the placenta. I appreciate her service! Being a first time mom I was truly happy to be able to continue to provide my baby with the nutrients from my placenta. Baby & myself are happy! ”
— Nasia B.“I’ve been meaning to text you and say thank you for all you did while I was in labor. I’m so glad you were there. Your voice and hands really made a difference. I love you forever!”
— Marissa R.“Professional, informative, caring, nurturing. I love having Chrys as my doula and postpartum support. Whenever I had any questions about anything she was there to answer them and keep me super calm (this is my first child). She attended a few prenatal visits and I really appreciated that. During delivery Chrys brought all the things I needed to deliver my baby. Even assisted my husband with being apart of this experience. Not to mention the postpartum support. I gave birth at a birthing center so I was sent home the night I delivered. I think it was like 2-3 hours afterwards and she came over the next day to assist me in giving me AND my baby a bath. Made sure I was breastfeeding correctly and started my placenta encapsulation. That process was about 2 days but the benefits were well worth it. Energy increased, milk production increase, appetite increased as well and TASTELESS (unless I burped then I would taste the spices). I HIGHLY recommend Chrys for anyone who is trying to conceive, currently pregnant, or just delivered. She is a woman of many talents and I love that about her. She’s my babies new Auntie :)”
